Hi! As you may have read in my bio, I am Savannah Kelly. I am so excited to start on this journey that the Lord has laid on my heart. If you know me, you may be wondering what got me here. If you don’t know me, I will use this first blog post to introduce myself.
All my life, I dreamed of being a mom. When someone asked me what I wanted to be when I grow up, I typically made up a career. Since I am a recovering people pleaser, I always chose something that prompted a good reaction. “I want to be a doctor to help people.” “I want to be a lawyer.” Yet, all I ever cared about doing was staying home and raising a couple of babies. I used this desire to nurture kids to become a teacher. I LOVED teaching, but once I had my first baby, that was it. I had to be home. I quit teaching and took on my dream job, stay-at-home mom. To my surprise, God is still showing me what I am supposed to be when I grow up.
You still may be wondering, “Okay, so this led you to a blog because?” Trust me, I have asked myself that same question a million times. The only explanation I can give is that God has led me here. My love for writing has emerged through teaching, making up stories for my babies and reading. God has shown me that I am supposed to use this gift of writing he has given me to disciple. I still am not quite sure what that will look like. I am letting Him lead every part of this.
God has put so much passion in my heart to share His love through writing. I am going to do my best to honor Him with each and every post, letting Him guide each topic. Each one may be a little different, depending on where God is leading. Some may be Bible-study type posts. Some may be more family-oriented posts, sharing what God is showing me about being a wife and mom.
I will leave you today with this verse:
“And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.” Colossians 3:17 NIV
Thank you again for being here, and thank you for taking the time to read. I hope that you will come back again and see what God is doing in my life. Who knows, maybe He will have something just for you.
Savannah Kelly
